Yoshiharu DOÏ is an essential personality in the Japanese culinary media universe. Having learned French cuisine in France and Switzerland and Japanese cuisine at Aji Kitcho in Osaka, he has been presenting family recipes on television for around thirty years now. The show “Cooking Side Dishes” on TV Asahi began in 1973 with Masaru DOÏ, the father of Yoshiharu DOÏ. He appeared alongside him in the show in 1988 and took over the hosting alone in 1993. This show ended in March but Yoshiharu Doï continues to be active, with numerous television appearances, culinary works, articles , courses and conferences at universities, etc. He is dedicated to teaching and spreading Japanese home cooking in Japan and abroad, emphasizing the alliance between tradition and simplicity. During this conference, he will discuss the philosophy of washoku cooking, and will share with the public his conviction that traditional family cooking offers simple tools to fight against climate change, as long as we respect the seasons and foods.
