Here’s how to recreate KFC tenders at home

Have you been dreaming of fast food at home? It’s now possible, thanks to our KFC-style fried chicken recipe.

What if this week, we treated ourselves to fast food at home? You don’t even need to have it delivered, just a few ingredients are enough to reproduce the famous KFC tenders recipe. Cherry on the cake ? It will cost you much less, and the composition will be better than supermarket nuggets.

What is the secret of KFC chicken?

Before being cooked, the chicken is marinated for several hours with a blend of spices including salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. This mixture can of course be personalized according to taste with a little chilli, ginger or curry.

As for the breading, if it is so crispy, it is because it is not made with breadcrumbs, but with cereals. More precisely, cornflakes, plain and unsweetened, of course, and puffed rice. We first roll the chicken in flour, then dip it in egg, before covering it with powdered cereals.
Once fried, you get a chicken that is soft at the core and a crispy exterior.

The recipe for KFC-style fried chicken

For around twenty pieces

Ingredients :

  • 5 chicken breasts
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g puffed rice
  • 200 g of plain cereals such as cornflakes
  • flour
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • salt
  • garlic powder
  • paprika

The day before, cut the chicken breasts into 4 and marinate them with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika.

Place the cereals and puffed rice and coarsely grind them using a rolling pin.

Prepare a plate of flour, another with the beaten eggs, and finally a last one where you will pour your crushed cereals.

Dip the chicken pieces in the flour, then the egg, then the cereals. If there are cereals left, make a double breading by repeating the passage in the egg and in the cereals.

Heat a frying bath.

Gently dip the chicken pieces into the hot oil, cook until a nice golden color.
