Giant couscous solidarity Morocco – Medialot

300 pieces of chicken couscous and more than 1,000 pastries are now available for reservation on the website www.cahorsagglo.fr.

On September 8, an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Morocco. The results showed several thousand people dead or injured. In order to be able to provide emergency aid to the victims, the Red Cross organized a national collection.

The local branch of the Red Cross, for its part, launched an initiative in which the City of Cahors and Grand Cahors are joining in at the logistical level, by supporting the organization of a giant couscous in solidarity with Morocco. The making of couscous is supervised voluntarily by Amina and Noujoud, two French-Moroccans, living in Cahors, surrounded by volunteers from the Red Cross. All the ingredients and containers were donated by local merchants and businesses (Lilchaimin for vegetables, Chez Hakim et Baraka for meat, the Food Bank for condiments and ANL Packaging for containers). The production sites and transport vehicles were made available free of charge by Grand Cahors. Finally, the city’s Social and Citizen Spaces launched the “1,000 pastries for Morocco” challenge with residents, supported by the restaurateur of the Touajin establishment.

The goods will be collected on Saturday October 7 in the morning from the square in front of the tourist office. Please note, there are no sales possible directly on site, reservation is essential.
