Sournia: The Arsa farm – France Bleu

The Arsa farm is located in the commune of Sournia in Fenouillèdes. In his immense meadows, Yannick Vilardell raises cows, calves, chickens, guinea fowl and capons outdoors!

“From birth to five weeks, the chicks are kept at a temperature of 28° then beyond that the chickens go outside every day with watering and they are offered for sale from the eighteenth week” explains Yannick, a passionate breeder who takes great care of all the animals on his farm. Here the poultry have total freedom and roam in the open field, feeding, among other things, on the purslane which grows naturally in the meadows. In total on the estate, Yannick owns fourteen henhouses, a brooder, one hundred and ten Charolais and Aubrac cattle. The breeder also processes with a cutting activity and production of prepared dishes: chicken terrines, chicken sausage but also chicken au pot, coq au vin and many others to be found on the estate but also at the peasant boutique O Délices du Soler and on sale directly on the website. “I sell the production of Arsa Farm directly to individuals” specifies Yannick. » »The poultry is sold ready to cook and the beef and veal are packaged in boxes then delivered to customers’ homes. »
