Grandfontaine. CM1 in the chef’s kitchen

Cook ? It’s also for children! The CM1 teacher at the Schirmeck school, Emmanuel Kaas, and Thierry Grandgeorge, the head of Velleda, in Grandfontaine, understood this well. This is not the first time that such an experiment has been attempted in this restaurant. In the context of taste week, this Thursday, October 19, the 25 students were there, ready to get cooking in small groups.

On the menu, fresh mushroom flans with parsley jus, Alsatian chicken thighs with oriental spices and semolina garnished with ratatouille, chocolate fondant with custard for dessert.

The students tasted all the dishes prepared by them on site. The chef was delighted with this type of initiative intended to introduce them to other tastes, show them the potential of fresh products, starting from the raw product and transforming it into an explosion of flavors, a real alchemy.

But already full, the program was not finished for the CM1 class. In order to speed up the digestion of this huge meal after which all the dishes had been emptied, the teacher led the whole troop to the summit of Donon.
